Most water heater problems can be repaired
When the hot water stops, the cause is usually one part: a heating element, a thermostat, a gas valve, a thermocouple, or sediment that has built up in the tank. Those are repairs, not replacements.
The plumber checks the whole unit, finds the cause, and tells you what the repair costs. If the heater is old enough or damaged enough that a new one makes more financial sense, you hear that too, with the numbers. We do not recommend a replacement to make a sale.
We repair gas, electric, and tankless heaters and carry common parts for Rheem, Bradford White, A.O. Smith, Navien, and Noritz.

Water Heater Repair questions
Should I repair or replace my water heater?
A unit under 10 years old with one failed part usually favors repair. A corroded or leaking tank, or a unit over 12 years old with repeated failures, usually favors replacement.
Why do I have no hot water at all?
On a gas heater: a failed pilot, thermocouple, or gas valve. On an electric heater: a burned-out element or a tripped reset button. Usually fixable in one visit.
Why does my water heater pop or rumble?
Hard-water sediment traps water against the bottom of the tank, where it overheats. A professional flush usually fixes it and extends the life of the heater.
How long should a water heater last?
A tank lasts 8 to 12 years with maintenance; a tankless unit 15 to 20. Hard water shortens tank life, so a yearly flush helps.
Is a leaking water heater an emergency?
A dripping relief valve or loose connection can be repaired and is not immediately dangerous. Water pooling from the tank body means the tank is failing and needs attention quickly.
Do you repair gas, electric, and tankless heaters?
Yes, all three.
How do I make my water heater last longer?
Flush the tank once a year, replace the anode rod every three to five years, and keep the thermostat at 120°F.

I had an excellent experience with SoCal 1 Plumbing! Eliass came out to clear a blockage in my kitchen line by snaking it through the outside wall clean-out, and everything was done efficiently and with great care. He also installed new tubular drains under my kitchen sink to stop the leaks I’d been dealing with. The work was high-quality, and they even provided a 1-year warranty on parts and labor, which gave me peace of mind. Highly recommend their professional and reliable service!
